       With the application of the single-drive high-pressure roller mill in cement mining and other industries this year, we have successfully applied the single-drive high-pressure roller mill to the fine crushing process of steel slag through continuous research and testing, replacing the original hammer crusher or cone crusher.       Since 2016, Panzhihua Iron & Waste Co., Ltd. has cooperated with the high-pressure roller mill manufacturer to transform the original process after many tests. In the crushing process, a single-pass high-pressure roller mill is used to replace the original hammer crusher. Extrusion of the mill, the steel slag extraction rate is greatly improved, and the steel consumption is greatly reduced. Originally, each ton of slag needs to consume 1.5-2Kg of liner and hammer head. After using the single-drive high-pressure roller mill, only 300Kg of surfacing electrode is consumed every year. The average cost per ton of steel slag crushing is reduced by about 50%.

The structure and use characteristics of single-drive high-pressure roller mill

          Based on the lamination theory and the characteristics of the traditional high-pressure roller mill, we have carried out an innovative design for the high-pressure roller mill, using a single-motor drive instead of the original dual-motor drive form, using driving gear, bridge gear and driven gear transmission In this way, the power is accurately distributed to the driving roller and the driven roller. Compared with the traditional high-pressure roller mill, the structure is novel, the cost is low, and the cost performance is good. The working principle and transmission principle of the single-drive high-pressure roller mill are shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2.

The main advantage:

1) The pressure between the rollers is adjusted in time by springs, the material between the rollers is evenly stressed, and the equipment runs smoothly;
2) No hydraulic system, flexible operation, timely and flexible moving roller avoidance;
3) The roller surface adopts alloy wear-resistant surfacing welding, the surface hardness of the working layer is HRC60~63, and the service life is ≥8000h. High hardness and good wear resistance.

4) The power transmission and pressure regulating system are easy to maintain and have low failure rate, so the maintenance cost is low;
5) The production environment is good. Because the materials are enclosed in the enclosed space of the rollers and the feeding device, they are broken by static pressure, which is not good for impact and material splashing, low noise, and a good production environment for workers;
6) The single-drive high-pressure roller mill has a compact structure and a small footprint. Compared with mills and other equipment, it can save a lot of basic investment.

From the above statistical data, we can see that the single-drive high-pressure roller mill has obvious advantages in terms of power consumption per ton, steel consumption, and fineness of discharge. After the transformation of the production process, the overall crushing cost is reduced by 30-50%. After the high-pressure roller mill is rolled, the mineral crystal lattice will be greatly damaged and the mineral grindability will become better, thereby greatly improving the operating efficiency of the ball mill.

It can be seen from the above cases that the new and improved dry process has a variety of products to meet different market needs. It can not only produce fine sand, but also produce fine powder on the basis of fine sand, which expands the application range of steel slag. Through the transformation of the core equipment in the general process, a single-drive high-pressure roller mill was added to reduce the cost of crushing, thereby effectively reducing the production cost of steel slag products, and through multi-level selection, the metal materials were also fully recovered. In this process, the PGM series single-drive high-pressure roller mill has many advantages such as simple structure, easy maintenance, small footprint, small initial investment, simple production line transformation, etc. It has been proved to have good results in fine steel slag crushing. Compared with my country’s huge steel slag output, my country’s steel slag has not been widely and well treated. Our new steel slag utilization technology and new equipment high-pressure roller mill will gradually be popularized and applied, contributing to my country’s environmental protection and solid waste treatment.
