Create a quartz sand iron removal tool to give others nowhere to hide

Driven by the continued high growth of global photovoltaic installed capacity, the demand for quartz sand for photovoltaics has also increased steadily. At the same time, our country is currently facing some pain points such as reliance on imports of quartz crucible inner sand and large-scale supply bottlenecks of ultra-white sand for photovoltaic glass. In order to work with the industry to solve these problems, on March 29, 2024, the second quartz sand technology and market exchange conference for the photovoltaic industry hosted by China Powder Network was grandly held in Wuhu, Anhui. During the meeting, we invited industry experts, Scholars and representatives of outstanding entrepreneurs will be guests in the dialogue column to conduct interviews and exchanges. What we share with you in this issue is an exclusive interview with Wang Qian, CEO of Shandong Huate Magnet.
China Powder Network: For quartz sand used in the photovoltaic industry, it is crucial to reduce its iron impurity content. Can you introduce the role of magnetic separation in iron removal from quartz sand?
Mr. Wang: First of all, quartz sand needs to be processed and purified through different types of magnetic separation equipment to increase its added value. The main function of magnetic separation equipment is to remove strong magnetic and weak magnetic iron impurities in quartz sand. Generally speaking, strong magnetic impurities such as mechanical iron can be effectively separated by permanent magnet series magnetic separation equipment, while weak magnetic impurities need to be separated by high gradient strong magnetic separators to achieve impurity removal and purification processes.
China Powder Network: What magnetic separation equipment did Huate Magnet bring to this conference?
Mr. Wang: This time we have brought some new magnetic separation equipment, including our world’s first 6-meter diameter vertical ring high gradient magnetic separator and the world’s first 2.5-meter diameter electromagnetic slurry high gradient magnetic separator. These The products are the core equipment for photovoltaic quartz sand iron removal and purification, and our newly optimized permanent magnet flat plate type strong magnetic separator also plays a very good role in photovoltaic quartz sand iron removal. In addition, the core tool for iron removal and purification of high-purity quartz sand is the electromagnetic dry powder demagnetizer, which plays a great role in improving the quality of high-purity quartz. It can effectively separate some magnetic impurities on the surface of high-purity quartz sand form the final product. Our superconducting magnetic separator has a magnetic field strength of 55,000 Gauss. It is the strongest magnetic separation equipment among magnetic separators and is also used in some quartz industries.
China Powder Network: In the current smart manufacturing environment, equipment continues to develop in the direction of digitization and intelligence. According to China Powder Network, Huate Magnet has also been selected into the list of benchmark industrial enterprises in Weifang City for "digital transformation and intelligent transformation". You Can you talk about Huate Magnet’s deployment in this regard?
Mr. Wang: At present, digital processing and manufacturing is very important, which is equivalent to changing from traditional equipment manufacturing to intelligent equipment manufacturing. First of all, in terms of systems, we have established and promoted main business systems such as OA, PLM, and MES with ERP as the core, which can control the entire life cycle of production and ordering, including the scheduling of production and manufacturing. At the same time, through this system, we can also control the processing quality and manufacturing quality of our products, effectively increase production capacity, and ultimately complete the product delivery date as early as possible.
China Powder Network: Not long ago, the opening ceremony of Huate Magnet Intelligent Vertical Ring Future Factory Project was grandly held. Can you tell us about the project planning and construction status?
Mr. Wang: The smart vertical ring future factory is the world’s first large-scale vertical ring intelligent manufacturing factory. In this factory, we will apply a variety of intelligent manufacturing equipment, large-scale CNC lathes, and be equipped with a series of digital control systems to achieve TQM comprehensive quality control of the equipment, and at the same time, control the production process of the entire life cycle of the equipment. The height of the workshop will reach 28 meters and be equipped with a 125-ton heavy-duty crane, which will pave the way for the production and manufacturing of large vertical rings of 4 meters, 5 meters and 6 meters. For example, the world's first 6-meter vertical ring high-gradient magnetic separator currently developed by Huate Magnet. The 5-meter vertical ring high-gradient magnetic separator has very high requirements for production equipment. As the first to build an intelligent future factory Enterprise, we also firmly believe that this project will promote the progress of manufacturing large-scale equipment for our mines. At present, the project has started construction and is expected to be completed at the end of August and early September. It will be put into production this year and will assist the equipment manufacturing of our large vertical ring high gradient magnetic separator.
China Powder Network: Finally, could you please introduce which quartz sand projects Huate Magnet has contracted this year? How is the market development going?
Mr. Wang: As a system service provider in the quartz sector, Huate Magnets’ mineral processing engineering design institute is constantly making new contributions and achievements to the industry. At home, we currently mainly carry out some quartz sand EPC general contracting projects in Hebei, Shaanxi, Guizhou, Guangxi and overseas Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and other regions. At the same time, our layout this year is also focused on internationalization, actively going out and inviting in, going out to connect projects, and inviting customers in to visit the factory. We have also successfully obtained orders for some quartz sand projects in Europe, including quartz sand project orders in Australia. In addition, this year we have also carried out the construction of multiple projects in Malaysia and Indonesia at the same time, all equipped with our strong magnetic separation Gradient magnetic separator. In the next step, we will also focus on connecting with foreign projects, truly becoming an international system service provider, further promoting and improving the quartz sector and industry, and consolidating our leading position in the industry through global layout.
